Sigma Makeup Professional Brushes
~Premium Kit~
~
Here is what the brush roll looks like when you have it closed and first recive it! It is well made and very nice. Also, I think it is professional looking, so if you are a freelance makeup artist, this is a nice roll to have for your kit. It did have a funky smell, kind of like glue, when I first got it but with a bit of time and air, the scent is gone which was a relief! The closure for this brush roll is magnitized which is a nice and quiet feature.
~
~
This is what you will see when you open the brush roll. There is a protective flap that covers 13 of the brushes which I love. I have a few brush rolls that don't have this feature, and let me tell you, it's a god send. I have a few brushes that had their bristles damaged but this flap will surely prevent this. (My puppy had to get his nose in the picture so I left him in there because he's so cute, he likes Sigma too hehe)
~
~
When you flip open the flap, you will see all the gorgeous brushes that are included in this Premium Kit. In total there are 15 and I think that is so worth the $15o price tag! If you own any MAC, Nars or even some Sephora brushes, you will know that good quality makeup brushes can be crazy expensive... this kit is a fraction of the cost of those high end brushes but they are still hand made and are great quality! I have deep cleaned mine twice since reciving them and have spot cleaned them many times. For the first deep cleaning, I did have some fallout of bristles but that is quite normal. Since then, they have been similar to my MAC brushes for shedding. The brushes did have a scent to them when I got them, but with time and a deep cleaning, the scent was gone so I could easily start to use and enjoy them.

SS134, Large Powder Brush
~
~
This paddle brush is amazing! I did not own a brush similar to this until buying the Sigma Premium Kit. I must say, now that I own it, I don't know how I ever lived without it. It can be used for many things like bronzer or even all over finishing powder. My fav thing to use it for is bronzer. This brush helps give my face that sun-kissed glow without looking like I'm wearing bronzer because it blends it into my skin so well. I think this brush will be my best friend this summer ;)

SS316, Lip Brush
~
~
I have never really used a proper lip brush before (I always just relied on a small concealer brush that I just re-purposed for my lips) but this one has made me fall in love. It's really small and works great for precision. I also adore that it has the cap for it because it really helps keep the brush clean, whether it's in your brush kit or in your purse. I like applying my lipstick at home and then piling on some onto the brush, caping it and then putting it in my clutch for a later application. It's a great brush to have in a collection.

SS138, Tapered Face Brush
~
~
I think this brush can be used for the most things. I have tried using it in many ways and I love that it is so multi-purpose. I've used it for mineral foundation application, all over face powder, highlighting, applying and blending both contouring and blush... the list just goes on. I adore this brush and think everyone should own one. Hopefully Sigma will sell this brush on it's own soon!

SS131, Duo Fiber Powder Brush
~
~
I love how soft this duo fiber brush is. It is amazing for applying blush and even highlighing. It is great when you want a light application and is great at blending out too.
~
~
SS129, Powder/Blush Brush
~
~
This is my favourite brush for blush. It can apply either a light or a consentrated amount to your cheeks which is great. It blends blush into my cheeks so it looks so natural. This brush makes blush application fool proof!
~
~
SS165, Tapered Highlighter Brush
~
~
This brush is wonderful brush for highlighting. It's so little and tapered and gets just where you want it to. On your cheek bones, the bridge of your nose.. anywhere. I love it and it is definitely my new favourite brush for highlighting. Everyone needs it!
~
~
SS192, Large Concealer Brush
~
~
I have tried this one for concealing large areas and it definitely does the job. I also like this for applying cream blushes, it puts down product right where you need it but you'll need to blend it out with another brush or your fingers work perfectly for that too.
~
~
SS165, Concealer Brush
~
~
Although I am a fan of using my fingers to apply concealer, because of the warmth of your hands, I quite like this concealer brush. It has a nice pointed tip that aids in getting product right where you need it, I love it under my eyes. I apply it with this brush but then use my fingers to make sure it's blended into my skin perfectly.
~
~
SS227, Large Fluff Brush
~
~
This brush is meant for your eyes, however it can be used for many other things as well. I personally like using it for all over lid colour or my brow highlight colour. Although, it functions well as a face highlighting brush or to contour, especially down the side of your nose because it's so little! I really love this brush, it's so soft and works great for many things.

~
SS222, Tapered Blending Brush
~
~
This brush is amazing. I use it for my crease and it always not only places colour, but blends it perfectly. In my opinion.... if the MAC 222 and 224 had a baby, the SS222 would be made. It's such a mix of those too because of the fact that it places and blends colour. The best two features in one brush. Love!
~
~
SS217, Blending Brush
~
~
This brush is a must have. If you want a light amount of colour in your crease, this brush is perfect for that but you can also layer with this brush and get a more vivid colour placement. It also is the ultimate blending brush. I also love using this brush to apply cream eyeshadows because it gives the perfect coverage without caking the product on so it creases. Everyone should own at least two of these.
~
~
SS226, Small Tapered Blending Brush
~
~
This brush makes applying outer V colours so easy, you'll feel like a professional. It's tapered and small shape fits all eyes. If you have small eyelids it also doubles great as a crease brush. I can't live without this brush, I probably use it 6 out of 7 days a week.
~
~
SS214, Short Shader Brush
~
~
If you want to take a neutral look and make it fun by adding some colour to your bottom lash line, this is the brush you need. It applies colour nice and bright because it's so dense. I also love using this brush to smudge shadow on the upper lash line for a smokey look.
~
~
SS212, Flat Definer Brush
~
~
I've never owned a brush similar to this and I must say, I was missing out. This brush is great for putting gel or cream liners into your waterline. It also is great to use on your eyebrows to fill them in. Such a unique brush and small enough to use anywhere.
~
~
SS210, Small Eyeliner Brush
~
~
If you want the closest eyeliner precision, this is the brush you need. It it so small and fits perfectly up against your lashline, it even can be used on the bottom lash line and you won't get really thick line. Can't believe I didn't own a brush like this till now.
~

So there are my thoughts and feelings on the Sigma Premium Kit. I am glad I bought it and for sure want to add the Orginial Kit to my collection soon.
Hope this helped you all and you can form your own opinions from my review!

glad to see your feedback on the brushes! i have a review of this set on my blog as well ;) i wonder if you would have some of the same criticisms as me or not? some of my brushes look a little different in shape (my ss134 is less flared, and my ss165 is more pointy- less like MAC's 165 which is slightly more rounded).
ReplyDeletei was thinkign about getting these but for the price tag and I have a Mac pro card I'm just gonna go with Mac, I have heard a few people having problems with Simga as well thanks for the posting
ReplyDeleteGreat review!! Been debating whether to finally try out Sigma, but I hate not having to be able to feel them before I buy them =( hence why I still haven't got my hands on them... ah, maybe this review might have just made me want a set or two hahaha
ReplyDeleteOmgosh. I'm getting mine soon, so soon. :-) Great review!
